While using voice thread you can upload pictures and images and also view others. After uploading your own pictures you can then record over your pictures turning your ordinary pictures into videos using your own voice. You can speak you mind about others art. This gives students the opportunity to discuss what they get out of others art. This lets students and teachers not only gain the skills of experiencing arts but relating it to modern day activities and technology.
2. What do you notice about the specific resource(s) you have chosen to explore?Exploring Voice Thread was fun. I found a couple different "videos" that I could have used that related to what I have learned in Aesthetic Education. The one I choose is a video book done by a kindergarden class. In this video that the teacher uploaded each student got the chance to leave their foot print on a piece of paper. Some did cool designs, while others just used one paint color. They compared and contrasted them, learning big compared to small and left compared to right. This is a creative way to bring art into the classroom and still have students learn.

After the performances we discuss what we each saw in the work of art we watched. When one person says one thing, it bring up another topic for someone else to discuss. You can type a song title and get the music video, you can type in a key word and find the videos that would be related to this word. Finding what you are looking for is not too difficult since it gets many views each day. Finding videos about the arts is not difficult, you can be as specific or vage and still get great results. This is a good tool for teachers to use when discussing music and dance in their classrooms. YouTube is also an easy tool for students of all ages to use as well.

It is something I would have never thought of as art before. As shown in the video many people stop and watch this art as they pass it on the street. Harris uses simple everyday materials and turned them into a great, well known piece of art. When thinking of garage bags no one thinks "beautiful" or even "clean" but after watching this video I would think this. Seeing how everyday objects can be used as art shows that anyone can engage in the arts, everyone has an artistic talent.
3. How is (or might) this resource be used in teaching and learning (as it relates to Aesthetic Education?) Showing this video or another video to my class I could lay down a bunch of everyday objects in front of them and tell them to create a piece of art only using these objects. By doing this every student, I would hope, could see that they all have a talent in the arts. You cannot be wrong when creating a original peice of art. By explaining to the other students in the room what their work of art could help them expand on their own piece after getting ideas from their classmates.

Stumble Upon allows you to narrow your search to one subject and then a bunch of funny pictures, silly articles (that are informative if you take the time to read them) and fun games. I found a "game" if you can call it that, that lets you pick one piece/place of art and then see it throughout the day. This reminded me of class and how I really enjoyed comparing my culminating project pictures from day to night.

If you choose the fourth dot, "Modena - Amendola Park" you can see this park from the view of a garage can. Seeing the different times of days, where all the activity is, was really interesting. I also thought it was really cool that if you start at the beginning of the day and then go right towards the end of the day the trash can if filled.

After using this in my classroom, I could have each student choose their favorite place (such as a park) and then draw or design their favorite time of day to go there. This is just like what we had to do in class when drawing and then making this place into a 3-D model. This will let students engage in art while relating it to their lives.

I found handouts that we were given in class, like the ten point by Eisner. This is another article from Eisner that I found very insightful. He discuses how important it is for students to learn art educationally.

Eisner discusses the development of a technicized cognitive culture and how experience is one of the most important things to make relationships and judgements on the arts, but having an open mind is needed as well. Finding a middle ground is the best way to go about art. His last point "The aesthetic satisfactions that the work itself makes possible" is one of the most important and really reflects what I got out of this class. This can improve the outcomes, through experience and understanding the final outcome will be so much stronger than if you had not experienced it.
3. How is (or might) this resource be used in teaching and learning (as it relates to Aesthetic Education)? This article will help me when I start teaching. It gave good information that not only will help me when planning lessons but I hope will affect the students I teach in the most positive light. I like how he describes what he wants for the education in the future. With this insightful information that I plan on using later I hope to keep the arts alive in school, to help all students learn from the experiences they have, and for them to keep their mind open to want to explore new things and enjoy what they study.

Teacher Tube is a good source when looking for videos, but I do feel that YouTube gets more views so there are not as many options to choose from. The video I found has a lot of helpful statements about students who are active in the arts. Such as that students who study art are four times as likely to be recognized for academic achievement compared to those who do not actively involve themselves. Teacher Tube has good quotes on all the videos I viewed.

One thing I noticed throughout the video is they talk about how the arts in school really help students. One quotes discusses that the skills learned in art directly transfer to reduce the dropout rates. This is a big problem in high schools all around America and something that we should try and put an end to. By teaching students in the arts at the elementary level, maybe this could stop the dropout rate as they get older. I also liked how the video explained how all students should be able to be engaged in the arts no matter what their disabilities are or what their backgrounds are like. These points are important and usually forgotten when it comes to education. Through art students learn about teamwork, which they will need later on in life. This video shows how important it is to have art in elementary schools.
